The introduction of the World Handicapping System has made some fundamental changes to the way that handicaps are run all around the world. Here in the UK, rather than intelligentgolf calculating handicaps directly, we now license from each of the Home Unions the permission to display and use the intellectual property of the USGA and the R&A, collectively the World Handicapping Association (WHA).
The primary architectural difference with WHS compared to CONGU, is that handicaps are now held centrally by the Home Unions, with the calculation happening centrally overnight. Each day, intelligentgolf will upload all relevant scores, and download all changes to handicaps to ensure that the figures used in the clubs are up to date with the central system.
This charge does vary slightly by Union, and the following table displays them.
Union | Charge | Notes |

Invoices are now being sent to all affiliated clubs, and must be paid by the 31st December 2020 in order to allow clubs to connect to their Home Union's WHS software via intelligentgolf.
We are very sorry that we've had to make this charge to our customers, and we have made no increase to the cost of our competition and handicapping software, despite the significant additional development that we've made to the system in order to support WHS.
