The English Golf Union has recognised the need for a mechanism to improve the accuracy of handicaps in England, and to facilitate the exchange of away scores. To this end, a working group was setup to develop a Centralised Database of Handicaps system (CDH). All of the major CONGU ISVs, including intelligentgolf, have been heavily involved in the development, testing and rollout of the system for some time now.
The CDH is now being used by clubs all over England, and intelligentgolf are fully committed to the process.
The unique online nature of intelligentgolf means that it is extremely easy for our English clubs to both get onto, and to use the CDH. A full document detailing the steps is available, and the majority of our customers are now using the CDH. The process to enable a club is extremely straightforward, and will take you around two clicks and one minute!
Features of our implementation include:
- Full control over player registration and details to be sent to the EGU
- Away scores downloaded automatically, but control of how they are applied remains with the handicap administrator
- Specific security around the CDH to restrict usage of the functions to named individuals
- Clear reconcilliation of any mis-match of player details between intelligentgolf and the CDH
- Email alerting when any outstanding CDH actions are required
- Seamless and invisible updates to intelligentgolf when CDH specification changes are made
For clubs in Scotland and Wales, intelligentgolf are also part of the working group to develop the CDH, and are fully committed to working with the SGU and GUW to implement their system as soon as possible.
